OUR WORK

We work with employers, social service organizations, schools, community colleges, philanthropists, and private and public companies to redesign access to our workforce and business ownership for Black and Brown communities. Clients have included the PARTI Program, Opportunity Youth Partnership, Santa Clara County Office of Education, Merritt College, Bay Area Community College Consortium, and the City of Oakland.

Working World incubated a business incubator over 6 months in 2020.  We developed the project from conception to pilot implementation, and will project-manage the initiative until it becomes an independent entity.  "East Side Oakland Ventures is an initiative to support Black and Latino entrepreneurs to gain the competence, confidence, and capital needed to establish and grow successful small businesses in East Oakland and create opportunities for them to become economic generators for the community."  Learn more at: www.eso-ventures.com

At the request of the Bay Area California College Consortium we are developing an educational podcast series to destigmatize the Cannabis Industry and highlight the workforce and entrepreneurial opportunities in one of the fastest growing industries in California.  The series is a combination of virtual Live Stream interviews and high production film making.  Catch the episodes here: www.case4cannabis.com

TESTIMONIALS

"From the day I met Alfredo, I‘ve been impressed by his ability to simultaneously inhabit two distinct worlds: education and business. In a community cluttered by hurried, grant-driven work, Alfredo’s cross-sector process stands out."

Testimonials

Over the past year, I have engaged Working World’s expertise for multiple projects related to entrepreneurship and workforce development. I’ve found Alfredo to be patient during each project’s  planning phase, but once the deliverables are defined, he works with a sense of urgency that is unparalleled. As challenges arise, Alfredo has been responsive to changes and has proven to be an excellent communicator. I trust he has my interests and goals in mind as he works through each project. The greatest value Alfredo brings is his ability to work within a given budget, while having the foresight to create a more robust vision.

Alfredo helped me to create and develop a business plan, a model for strengthening our organization.  And to this day, even through a pandemic, we have raised more money than we ever have in our 20 years of existence.  And this was due to Alfredo’s ability to connect us with strategic partners, help us identify the needs for our financial strategy including bookkeeping, budget, and forecasting.  In my future, I forecast that Alfredo is going to be a tool to support small and mid-sized entrepreneurs who want to build their dream into reality.”

Working with Alfredo and Working World has been a very positive experience for me.  Alfredo's a great facilitator and a tedious project manager.  Incredibly, he somehow manages to weave together a cohesive narrative and plan with minimal direction and input.  I look forward to ongoing work and future collaborations with Working World.
